Field of Black-Eyed Susan

My gaiters were yellow with pollen after walking through this field of Black-Eyed Susan and dried grasses. Part of the Naromi Land Trust, the field is in it's first autumn after being seeded this spring with native wild grasses and flowers.

End of Summer

On the edge of the horizon, sheltered between two trees stands a weathered nestbox for bluebirds, abandoned, the birds gone with the summer.

Thistles

Backlit by the rising sun, the spines of thistles are haloed in light, floating on a bed of Queen Anne's Lace.

One Tree

Just after sunrise. One tree stands at the edge of the lower field, on the edge of a head-high border of grass. Between the
distant hills fog pools in the valleys.
